In Damascus, a Saudi volunteer program run by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has carried out 49 life-altering surgeries. The surgeries were performed as part of the Saudi "Amal" (Hope) Volunteer Program for 2025, which intends to provide Syria with medical and humanitarian aid. 22 tumor surgeries, 12 cochlear implant treatments, 4 pediatric surgeries, 5 pediatric orthopedic surgeries, and 6 joint replacement and orthopedic surgeries have all been carried out by the KSrelief medical team.
The team's specialist physicians have begun operating at Damascus' National University Hospital. In Damascus, orthopedic procedures including joint replacements have been going on for three days in a row. In 42 specialist sectors, the "Amal" Volunteer Program intends to carry out 104 volunteer initiatives, totaling 218,400 volunteer hours. In order to assist Syrians, the effort encompasses 45 medical and training domains, such as surgeries, first aid classes, and vocational programs.
